In the first semester you will study the language and reasoning of geometry, congruent triangles, polygons, quadrilaterals, similarities, and transformations. During the second semester, we will cover right triangles, area, probability, volume, and circles.
Behavioral Expectations
1. Be respectful.
2. Raise your hand for recognition.
3. Work to your potential.
4. Do not chew or eat anything.
5. Adhere to E.H.S. rules and the county Code of Conduct
Bring pencils, pens, paper, your Chromebook, notebook, compass, ruler, protractor, and graphing calculator allowed on the PSAT and SAT (TI-83, TI-83+, or TI84).
Grading Policies and Procedures
A 90% or Above
B 80% to 89.99%
C 70% to 79.99%
D* 60% to 69.99%
F* 59.99% or Below
*Remember you should obtain a C or better to go on to the next course.
The final exam, tests, and quizzes will make up 80% of your grade. The other 20% of your grade will be from your homework/classwork grades. This portion includes warm-ups, homework, notes, classwork, and your active participation. You can expect a quiz for each unit, then a unit test. The final exam will be worth 15% of the overall grade. I tend to announce evaluations in advance. Make-ups need to be done within 2 days for each day you were absent. If you are absent, assignments are posted on Campus.
Homework Policy
Completed homework assignments will be checked each class period. Steps to get answers must accompany answers. Expect assignments each class period. Homework will be posted on Campus. It is to your advantage to complete make-up work prior to the next quiz or test. Homework is practice for a quiz and test. Discuss your plans with me when you have several assignments to make up. I can help you make a good plan and make sure you are ready for any quiz or test.
Attendance
Students need to be in their assigned seats when the bell rings or they are marked tardy. You can expect me to follow school policies with attendance and all other matters.
Please remember, I am available to discuss your concerns. My voice mail is 982-5119 and I’ll be available during access periods. My email address is [email protected] and is a great way to contact me.
